Mission Statement of Southside Assembly of God

The mission of Southside Assembly of God is to be a church “Where Families Grow in Faith.” Through Bible based ministries touching every age group, our vision is to grow families of faith. Southside has a rich history of anointed worship and praise allowing a freedom of God’s spirit in every service to lift the heart and inspire the soul. Through balanced teaching, faith-filled service, and practical expressions of love, families are nurtured in God’s knowledge and encouraged in their walk with Christ.

Bible Based Teaching- "All scripture is God-breathed, and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness." (2 Timothy 3:16 NIV) In today's world, we need to stay rooted in the word of God. That is why here at Southside Jax we believe that core, bible-based, teaching is essential for maintaining the integrity of the Gospel. Our hope and desire is that we would draw closer to the Lord and understand His word better, through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, so that as we receive from the Lord, we can pour out His message to our community and reach the Lost.

Faith Filled Service- "Whatever you do, do it enthusiastically, as something done for the Lord, and not for men." (Colossians 3:23 HCSB) Our service should be fueled by our increasing faith in the Lord. Whether in ministry or in our mundane activities, everything that we do should reflect the goodness and the majesty of our creator. We have lived to know that our faithful servant leadership is a greater testimony than anything we could ever say.

Practical Expressions of Love- "Faith without works is dead." (James 2:14-26 NKJV) Jesus called us to go out, and James shared that true religion is taking care of the widows and the orphans (James 1:27) The theme of the Gospel is the redemption and salvation of broken people through the selfless sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross. We are called to meet the needs of those in our community, locally, and around the world. We are called to be the hands and feet of Christ. We believe that the Church's DNA should be outreach to the lost and meet their needs selflessly to show the essence of Christ.
